Sox Bloggers and RC Polomolok… Making A Difference in People's Lives

Bloggers are usually people who love to write. They enjoy “blogging” about something that happen to them or the places and social events they attend so that the whole world will know about it. They have become the new media, getting invited to attend an opening of a business, getting freebies just for them to blog (or to write) about a business establishment or a product. Rarely does one come across a group of bloggers who have a heart. I am of course talking about the SOCCSKARGEN BLOGGERS or the SOX BLOGGERS.

Montage Xmas Get Together

Its that the time of the season once again, where we have a series of  Christmas parties one after the other. Tonight was Montage's own version. These group of guys and a gal are composed of the best and most award-winning photographers in these part of the island. Most of them have won a photography contest not only locally but abroad as well. So as usual, simple old me was a bit overwhelmed by their mighty presence..hehe. Excuse my photographs...I am after all not a photographer but a blogger :)

The hunks of Montage Digital Photography: (L-R but not from hunk to least hunk :) Ronald R., Ronald V., Virgel V., Hannah, Arnold V., Dan Dee, Cris and Omar G. (not in the picture: Dong P, Sherwin D., Ghie C. and       Dino K.)

Okay enough of the praises and back to the party. Its funny to note that once they band

The Christmas Elf

Every year, lola flies to gensan  to visit our little one come October, not only to be present for her one and only apo's birthday but to decorate our house for the yuletide season. So Christmas comes early in our house so to speak.  When lola starts opening her boxes of decorations, my little girl's face lights up. She loves to help lola (ehem pretend to help since all she does is play) put the balls on the xmas tree, with a few ones ending up as bowling balls (reason we have to replenish our xmas balls every year).

It has become an annual ritual for the two of them. Switching from daily activities to busy

Beaboo Anecdotes Series 3

My job as a mom oftentimes has its rewards and sometimes these rewards manifest themselves in the normal, everyday things that my child does that give my heart a glow. From the serious “I wav yu mommy” to the funny ways she sees things that more often than not give me a stomach ache from laughing. She usually takes me by surprise when I see the humor in every new situation. Here are more of my favorites some happened recently…

the reawakening of the kikay in me...

before i got hitched
I really don't consider myself as the "kikay" type of girl. In clothes, I wear clothes that are comfy, shoes well..slippers more like it and wear almost close to nothing when it comes to makeup....nah! Sometimes I like to look a bit stylish, I still miss those days when people especially guys do a double take just to have second look (hehe feeling diyosa..feeling lng naman). Those were the days when I was still a corporate slave, wearing fancy corporate clothes and shoes. Going to the salon on weekends, having my hair and nails done, even wearing make-up. That was life in the metro. My life as single unattached me.

Clown Phobia

We were invited to attend the 1st birthday celebration of a friend's daughter. And so the three of us - me, dada and beaboo trooped to the party. Upon entering the gate, the hired clown was performing magic tricks for the party guests. One look at the clown and my little girl went wild, literally shaking with fear, shouting and crying "No clown!" and then she ran out the gate, pushing a dog that was blocking her way! O my galigas! I have not seen her so scared like that.

ten years and counting...

How do you celebrate a decade of friendship, love and togetherness? well, technically we've been together for thirteen years or so and we've been through the bumps and humps of married life, we've cried together, laughed out silly with each other, had boxing bouts that would put manny paquiao to shame, watched scores of movies together, simply put..we have been through a lot in a decade.

Confessions of a Photographer's Wife

Two years ago when hubby and I were in the middle of an event in Cebu, our point and shoot camera suddenly died a natural death. Probably due to old age or to the numerous bruises it got due to misuse (hehe..i have the habit of dropping it when i have something exciting I want to take a picture of), at that time, it just decided to stop working. So on the spot, we decided to purchase a DSLR camera, but later did I discover that hubby has been researching the net beforehand about photography and using a professional camera so you can imagine how good he was at that point in convincing me to buy that dslr cam on the store window we were looking at. And I guess after that, you can say the rest was history...

Dont you quit

I'm so happy to have found this poem again in the net. Its one of my favorites...and aptly relevant to how I'm feeling now. I'd like to share it with you since most of us don't always feel our best and most might be beset with problems galore. Sigh.  But then, as I read this poem I am reminded that life is a roller coaster ride with obstacles and loops on the way. It is how we deal with this loops in our life that make or break the person within. I wish I could say that in everything I attack it with a positive attitude but then, sometimes pessimism touches me more often than I would have wished.. Before I wander into other things, here is the poem. I hope the credits are correct as I found it in the net.

DON'T QUIT
by Ralph Acosta
Rotary Project
Its when things seem worst that you musn't quit..

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,

How a bag pocket made a mommy’s life more easier...

When my baby was born, I had a tough time picking out a baby bag. It was because I have one very important prerequisite – it has to have a lot of POCKETS. Call me an organize-freak or your occasional OC but I really want to have the contents of my bag organized. I don’t know, I just like to have everything inside my bag and all the items accounted for from time to time. I hate to leave something behind a friend’s house for example just because I forgot I placed it on my bag in the first place.

My Bag: BEFORE POCKETS
So it was like an OC-mommy’s dream come true when I discovered “Bag Pockets”.

I tell myself...

My daughter goes to me asking for a hug when I know all she wanted was to sit on my lap. She does this every time Im in front of the computer emptying my thoughts on blogs I wanted to write. –hay.. I hope she falls asleep early tonight, I tell myself.

She grabs my hand and insists that we color the scribbles she made on a piece of paper she picked up somewhere. Reluctantly I do as she wants and silently I pray – please let her sleep early tonight so I can do whatever it is I wanted to do without interruptions, I tell myself.

the magic of yakapsul and kisspirin

Kids are truly the gentlest of creatures. their innocence and beliefs sometimes leaves me in awe. its amazing how a simple hug brightens up their day. i've even read somewhere that to raise a confident and well-rounded individual, his or her childhood must have been filled with a lot of hugs from parents. of course one would ask the question why a simple gesture such as a hug can contribute to a child's well being in the future..for me i guess it just reassures them that they are loved. Kids after all are hungry for affection and attention especially from parents.

my baby the gleek

I am a self confessed fan of the TV show Glee. I guess it stems out from the fact that i love musicals.. be it in the theater or the movies. The only ones I'm not very fond of are the song and dance numbers incorporated in the local movies where the term "musical" is not even related. Anyways..

havin my bea louise has been a roller-coaster of emotions for a mom like me, but the most special moments i love are the funny, witty comments she makes out of her sheer innocence. what makes it even more amusing is knowing the fact that she doesn't really mean to offend, she is very literal, with no double meaning like grownups usually sound. so here are a few of my favorite anecdotes...(i'll update as soon as a new one springs up :)
